Hive Mind!

Happy Tuesday:

Hello friends!  I’m happy to be back to you…with an answer to our mystery!

If you’ll recall, on my recent trip to Costa Rica, I stumbled upon this paradox:

I had so many questions!  (Why is *this* lot, overgrown and swampy, not for sale?  What do they know about what it’s *really* worth?  And how many people have to come find you–since there’s no one there to ask–before it’s worth your while to put up the sign and stop the badgering?)

And one of you wonderful folks had an answer: “These [signs] are common in Uganda, where people often sell land that they don’t own. People put up the sign so that if a prospective buyer is looking at the land it will spark them to ask questions of the seller and so they don’t end up in land disputes.”

Thank you - together, we can figure it all out.
