Here to Serve

Happy Tuesday - 

I’ve spoken about the two organizations on whose boards I serve–Wide Angle Youth Media and CHARM; this week was the publication celebration for CHARM: Chaos, the student-created literary arts magazine that is the foundational work of CHARM.  

The celebration was so joyous–kids, friends, teachers, parents gathered together to recognize the effort of the students: they chose the theme, put out the call for work, created works, edited the pieces, and did the layout.  Their pride is evident in their faces in the photos from that night.  This is the spirit of vulnerable creation and collaborative recognition of peer voices that we must continue to elevate.

AND: Wide Angle’s spring campaign continues!  Our digital media classes and apprenticeships are another excellent way to elevate the voices of Baltimore City students.  Please donate if you can! (Even a small amount makes a difference!)
